Yesterday, Express Tribune published an interesting piece on top concert attractions of the year.
The article featured both, musicians with highest grossing acts and
with highest number of shows performed. In number of shows performed,
Lady Gaga topped the list with over 138 shows followed by Bon Jovi (80
shows), Metallica (60 shows), ACDC (40 shows) and U2 with over 32 shows.
Reading that, I giggled to myself and did a quick math on number of shows performed by Atif Aslam
in 2010 as I clearly remembered at least 3 of his international tours
in the year which had multiple acts. I looked around for as much
concerts as I could find and ended up on a count of at least 40 shows
around the world. Since I manually looked around for all the events and
have no stats by the management, that of course doesn’t include all the
shows as some of them were private and not publicized to masses.
Does that make the Pakistani pop star one of the top concert attractions of the year? Drop your opinion in comments.
